The son of successful actors, Joshua Duvall Preston entered this world at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, on January 4th, 1989. Having professional actors as parents, Joshua attended numerous auditions with his folks, and became familiar with the inside of a casting room before he could walk. His very first commercial was as an infant in the arms of his mom for a local news station. Soon, Joshua landed his first national network commercial at the tender age of 4 for Dove soap. A star was born!
Joshua performed in dozens of commercials by the time he was 10, and several television shows including; SOMETHING WILDER with the legendary Gene Wilder, and STEP BY STEP with Suzanne Summers. His favorite role to date was as young Chandler, Matthew Perry’s character, in a Thanksgiving special episode of FRIENDS. He also appeared in big budget studio features, such as the role of Arthur Nixon in Oliver Stone’s NIXON, and FATHER OF THE BRIDE II.
When Joshua entered Junior High, he decided to leave acting to enjoy sports (soccer and football are favorites), leadership, friends, and fun! As school President, Joshua visited Washington D.C. for a leadership conference and fell in love with politics. He would later work as an intern in a local Congressman’s office and be chosen to serve as an intern in the White House Office of Political Affairs.
Joshua earned his B.A. in Political Science/Public Law at the University of California, San Diego, and also served as President of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha.
Post graduate life, Joshua worked as Co-Owner of his family cookie company and later, as an Account Executive at a boutique travel public relations firm.
In 2014, Joshua gained the most important title of all – Dad! He considers his daughter, Ava Eileen, to be his greatest accomplishment thus far and his greatest joy.
When the acting bug proved too great to resist, Joshua rejoined the acting world under the tutelage of master acting coach, MICHAEL LASKIN, in Michael's advanced class; THE STUDIO.
Since rejoining the acting world, Joshua has signed with Danis, Panaro & Nist for Voiceover representation, and Kazarian /Measures / Ruskin & Associates for On-Camera Commercial representation.
When not acting, you can find Joshua playing with his daughter at Billy Beez, painting Games Workshop figurines, reading his trusty Kindle, or constantly working out to burn off calories gained from eating way too much sushi.
